Ph.D.Graduate instruction in the Department of Economics is designed to lead to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in economics. The general purpose of the graduate program is to provide thorough training in both the techniques and the applications of economic analysis. For students with an interest in Population Studies that wish to obtain a degree in economics, simply mark the appropriate code in the section Areas of Interest of the Princeton Graduate School Application for Admission; your choices would be demography (DEM), economics and demography (EDM), or sociology and demography (SDM).
