Degree Program

Combined M.S., Ph.D.

Dual-title degrees in Energy, Environmental, & Food Economics and Demography are intended for students with a strong interest in demographic theories and techniques as applied to EEFE. Dual-title M.S. and Ph.D. degree options are available.

A dual-title degree in EEFE/Demography can help a student develop skills in demographic techniques and methodologies, including geographic information systems (GIS) and statistical methods. The Demography program is affiliated with Penn State’s prestigious Population Research Institute (PRI), which is one of a handful of federally funded population research centers in the United States.

A student pursuing a EEFE/Demography dual-title degree must meet all EEFE degree requirements as well as all Demography degree requirements. Some courses may count toward both sets of requirements. A student must submit an application for admission to the Director of the Graduate Program in Demography.
