The Department of Housing Fellowship is part of the Management Fellowship Program offered by the County of San Mateo. The Management Fellowship program, inaugurated in 2015, is designed to attract top talent from prestigious graduate schools to commit to meaningful and value-driven work in local government. The Management Fellowship Program creates a channel into future leadership opportunities with San Mateo County. The program is designed for recent postgraduate candidates as well as current Master’s program students with an expected graduation date of spring, 2017

The Housing Fellow will work with the department management and staff to:

  • Develop a methodology for organizing the creation of the plan and make staff assignments
  • Working with Human Resources to distill the plan into individual goals and objectives for the Collaborative Performance Management System (CPMS)
  • Train department staff on how to integrate CPMS into individual development plans through the Workday application

Additionally, the department has other smaller projects which would strengthen the Fellow’s ability to accomplish strategic planning goals.

They seek candidates with a Master’s Degree in a related field and skills in strategic planning, writing, presentation, facilitation, data mangement and knowledge of federal housing programs.
