The Urban Institute was founded in 1968 with the goal of being able to provide accurate information and propose solutions to inner city poverty in America. Today, the Urban Institute continues their mission and does research in housing, health care reform, prisoner reentry, immigration issues, and many more areas. The Urban Institute also holds many policy debates between experts in the field including institute fellows, directors of other organizations, and academics from around the country.
