MDRC Summer Internship

Deadline

Wednesday, March 15, 2017

MDRC is a nonprofit, nonpartisan education and social policy research organization dedicated to learning what works to improve programs and policies that affect the poor.

It is seeking rising undergraduate seniors of diverse backgrounds for paid summer internships at our New York City office. The internship, which is part of the MDRC Gueron Fund Scholars Program, seeks to engage and encourage individuals from groups that are traditionally underrepresented in the social policy research community. The selected summer interns will be part of multidisciplinary teams developing evaluation research on current social policy issues. Each intern will have the opportunity to support a range of projects within MDRC’s five policy areas: Family Well-Being and Children’s Development, K-12 Education, Young Adults and Postsecondary Education, Low-Wage Workers and Communities, and Health and Barriers to Employment.

The eight-week paid internship provides the opportunity to work with MDRC teams on a range of organizational and analytical tasks, including supporting qualitative research design, processing qualitative data, conducting literature reviews, and assisting with innovative ways to communicate our findings to practitioners and policymakers.
