Many organizations need to have a way to analyze the communities that they are serving, with a demographic analysis being the most useful. This allows many different characteristics to be seen. For example, if an organization sees that an area has many children, they may want to focus more on early education and less on higher education. There are also many non-profits that do demographic research and try to increase public awareness of population issues and raise funding for future demographic research.
